The Fall of Man

The story of the fall of man is taught by religions other than Christianity, but nowhere except in the Bible is it presented in such a detailed, doctrinal account. While the other stories passed on by other religions may be distorted, they do recognize the awful FACT that something has gone wrong in man’s history.

Man is not progressing upward, although he thinks he is because his rockets are going upward. Notice how man always confounds transportation and communication with spirituality. He always thinks that if he is going up in the air he is going “up” in the sense of becoming godly, moral, or spiritual.

How did we get into this mess?

“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Gen. 2:16–17). Looking at the account as it stands, the woman was very close to the tree. She should have fled from the place of temptation, but she was hanging around it. She was standing and admiring its beauty because, after all, it was “good for food” and for wisdom and “pleasant to the eyes.” That is, the most subtle temptations have nothing to do with committing fornication. They have to do with dating a pretty girl. The most subtle temptations have nothing to do with killing somebody with a razor blade in a back alley. They have to do with burning someone with a cigarette butt in the washroom so you can get his lunch money. You know what I mean? She parleyed with the devil. She listened to him, which she had no business doing. Never converse or argue with Satan, except to quote Scripture to him. The Bible says, “Resist the devil” (James 4:7), and she didn’t.

Eve tampered with the word of God. The first sin committed by Eve was the same sin as the Lockman Foundation, the Westcott and Hort group, and Nestle, Aland, and Metzger. It was subtracting from the word of God. The shorter text is the wrong text. She took the word “freely” from the original command. If you will check the commandment in Genesis 2:16–17 with the command as she quotes it in Genesis 3:2–3, you will find Eve lying by subtracting from the word of God.

The first sin is OMITTING WORDS FROM THE WORD OF GOD, as the New American Standard Version omitted half of Acts 9:5; half of Acts 9:6; 1 John 5:7; part of Mark 9:46–48; and took the names “Lord,” “God,” “Jesus,” or “Christ” out of thirty passages. The NASV is one of the most corrupt, polluted, and godless of the depraved translations on the market: perhaps the very worst for the Christian to fool with because it not only subtracts from the word of God as Eve did, but it also adds things to the text that are found in no text and adds things to the text that deny the Deity of Christ. You will find the word “Lord” knocked out of the dying thief’s mouth in Luke 23:42 of the NASV. You will find the “Son of God” has been converted to the “Son of man” in John 9:35. You will find the “judgment seat of Christ” has been altered to the “judgment seat of God” in Romans 14:10. These are only a few of the 2,000 gross errors and 5,000 minor blunders in the NASV and the NIV, recommended by the apostate Fundamentalists of Christian colleges.

Then Eve toned down the word. First of all, she subtracted the word “freely,” then she added “neither shall ye touch it.” Then she said that the Lord said “lest ye die.” The Lord did not say “lest ye die.” The Lord said, “Thou shalt surely die.”

Did you ever try, in your own mind, to explain why there is no religious book in the world (or any so called “scriptures” of any religion) that even knows where to start. Well, I know how they start. They start with philosophical, intellectual discussions about spiritual truths. Why, the Bible doesn’t start that way. It starts with your mouth and your belly.

Eve looked at the tree. She saw that it was good for food: positive; pleasant to the eyes: positive; and one that could make her wise: positive. So she ignored what God said. After all, what’s wrong with something good for food, amen? And what is wrong with something that is pleasant to the eyes, amen? Aren’t the new “bibles” easy to understand? And it could make her wise if she partook of it. What is wrong with studying Hebrew or Greek to get the originals, amen? Nothing, except it damned the whole human race. Eve did what God told her not to do. “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat [there’s that word], and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat” (Gen. 3:6).

Eve ate, and her husband ate. According to 1 Timothy, her husband knew that he would die if he ate. So, he ate to die with her because he loved her enough to die for her. You say, “Where do you find that?” 1 Timothy chapter 2 and Ephesians chapter 5. Did you ever read it? You really ought to read it. “For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression” (1 Tim. 2:13–14). You should read that. You should read Ephesians chapter 5 where Christ “loved the church, and gave himself for it:” “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church” (Eph. 5:25, 31– 32). Christ’s relationship to the body of saved people is as the relationship of Adam to his wife Eve.

She is part of his body, bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh (Gen. 2:23), noticed that there is no mention of blood, they had a circulatory system of water, they were blue blood which was changed to red blood orally by the forbidden fruit, the wrong kind of blood. So, when Adam and Eve sinned, they took something orally that effected their circulatory system, and they inherited the blood that now flows in your veins. For “The life of the flesh is in the blood,” (Lev 17:11)

They ate, and when they ate, Eve ate first. She showed Adam what she had done, and he ate too. He ate with knowledge, whereas she was deceived. This is the straight and clear testimony of the New Testament, as seen above. Adam did what he did voluntarily with forethought, with knowledge ahead of time, as to what would happen. Adam knew when he took it he would die, and die he did. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses” (Rom. 5:12, 14), and there it goes.

Romans 5:19, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” There it is. Sin came into this world through Adam. He was the head of the race. He had the seed. It couldn’t have entered this world if it had stopped in Eve because Eve could not reproduce without the man.

Adam and Eve became sinners. Their spirits died. The Lord said, “in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Gen. 2:17). In the day they “ate thereof” they DIED. In the Bible when Adam and Eve partake of it, they die right on the spot, and that is why the Bible says, “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7), because you are dead. You are dead now. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 5:6, “But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.” Christ said, “Let the dead bury their dead,” (Luke 9:60). Their spirit died. They have to be born again, and “that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6). That isn’t all. Their soul became stuck to their bodies. Read Revelation chapter 6. Read Luke chapter 16. Their soul became so stuck to the body that the no-hellers thought the soul and the flesh were identical.

“And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons” (Gen. 3:7). And they went and hid from the presence of God. The curses that were pronounced upon the serpent still hold true. In regards to the woman, her husband will rule over her, and she will have pain and sorrow in childbirth. For the man, the ground was cursed and brought forth thorns and thistles (which it still does), his life was to be one of sorrow (which it is), he would make his living with perspiration (which he does), and when he dies he will go back to the dust (which he does).

What God said in Genesis chapter 3 is scientifically true for anybody, anytime, anywhere. There has not been one advancement of science in 4,000 years that has changed one word of Genesis 3:14–19. The ground is still cursed, and that is why you die when you eat from it. There is something wrong with the GROUND, and everything you eat comes from the GROUND. There is nothing you can put in your mouth that doesn’t come from the GROUND. If it came from the air, it was on the GROUND before it got in the air. Don’t kid me. When God said what He said in Genesis chapter 3, He laid down the absolute, infallible, scientific, dogmatic fiat which holds for any scientist living or dead regardless of his education or sex, in any age. What God said in Genesis 3:14–19 has never been abrogated, nullified, revised, changed, altered, or improved upon by any body of scientists on any continent in 6,000 years of recorded history. When the King James Bible says it, brother, that is it.
