Where in the Bible is Blood applied and How many times does it show up?

1.      Adam & Eve

First thing I want to talk about is the blood being applied let's look at Adam and let's look at Eve and let's look at what happened to them and let's see an application of blood Adam and Eve, now Adam and Eve of course were created by God.

Genesis 3:21 King James Version

“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”

After God caught Adam and Eve sinning the Bible says unto Adam also unto his wife did, the Lord God make coats of skins and clothe them and he clothed them, so the first time we see the application of blood was with Adam and Eve.

I think maybe blood was the product of sin and that's what led to the downfall of man now we have sinful blood in us because the Resurrected Christ has no blood, the Bible says flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, it's like your glorified body doesn't sound like it's got blood in it, so they might have a water circulatory system. But because of their sin ,God did something, God brought a sacrifice and God sacrificed a lamb.

What I'm going to show you today is all these applications all point to Jesus Christ I find that amazing so most likely a lamb because Jesus is called the Lamb of God which taketh away of the sin of the world. God was instructing Adam and Eve and telling them look because of your sin you should die the wages of sin is death but I'll accept the blood of an innocent on your behalf and God clothed them in the skin, so the first application of blood that I find takes us all the way back to Adam and Eve and reminds us of a lamb and a sacrifice and being clothed that's very important and being clothed with skins.

2.      Passover

There was another place where God told the people of Israel to apply blood and this is the second application that I find of blood in the Bible in Exodus chapter 12, this would be at the Passover, so this would be God telling them hey it's time for you to apply the blood and God told them to apply the blood guess where? At a door! Isn't that interesting God says now there's the door of your house and this application of blood is going to be at a door this is the second time God tells them to apply the blood, why is it a door and this is the door of the Passover and this is a feast of Israel so we read in the book of Exodus chapter 12:

Exodus 12:21-24 King James Version

21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.

So they were saved by the blood and the blood was to go up above and on both sides you know what's interesting me that that reminds me of a cross they're literally doing a sign of a cross when they put the blood up on top and the blood on both sides, and it says you'll be passed over when I see the blood there won't be any judgment falling on you. You'll be saved from death through the blood, now you know who that reminds me of that reminds me of Jesus Christ in John chapter 10 verse 9, Jesus said:

John 10:9 King James Version

“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

Just as they went in that door applying the blood and stayed inside to be saved, once they were saved they got to come back out, but they were saved by going in to the door and they were saved by the blood which reminds us of Jesus saying He’s the door and His blood saves us.

3.      Tabernacle

According to the Old Testament Law there was a thing called “The Tabernacle” and when Israel got their land they'd go into the Tabernacle and the Tabernacle was set up in such a way that in the very back end of the Tabernacle there was the Ark and there was what's called the Ark of the Covenant and if you looked at the Ark it had what's called cherubims and their wings went backwards and their wings went forwards and so they had this Arc and in order to have forgiveness once a year this is what they did: If you were in Israel during that time you could come in any day and give a sacrifice for your sins and the priests would take care of it there but then once a year there was a one sacrifice for all the people for the whole nation and that blood was taken in by the priesthood to the most holy place where the Ark of the Covenant was and he offered that blood right there upon The Mercy Seat and that was a yearly sacrifice for Israel.

Leviticus 16:32-34 King James Version

32 And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest's office in his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:

33 And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.

34 And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.

We see this again and Paul is mentioning how they used to do it back then Hebrews chapter 9 and verse 7

Hebrews 9:7 King James Version

“But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:”

And these are the description of the Ark of the Covenant

Exodus 25:20 King James Version

“And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.”

4.      Jesus Christ’s Blood applied at the Cross at Calvary

This is the shed blood of Our Savior Jesus Christ, that he shed on the cross for our sins and Jesus died and shed his blood and hopefully you know all about that you know the death of Christ and his shedding his blood on the cross and we read that in John chapter 19 and verse 17.

John 19:17 King James Version

“And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:”

So Jesus was crucified on the cross and that's where he shed his blood

John 19:34 King James Version

“But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.”

The Bible says that he shed every drop. Let go to Colossians chapter 1

Colossians 1:20 King James Version

“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”

So Jesus Christ died on the cross to make peace because the Bible teaches that God the Father in heaven was looking down at God the son and by the way the son was called the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world John the Baptist said and Jesus died in our place for our sins and the Bible says the Father was pleased because Jesus died and it was like Jesus was saying accept my Sacrifice, my blood to forgive not only Adam and Eve but all men and the Father said I'll accept it and the blood was applied to the cross for the sins of the whole world.

Isaiah 53:10 King James Version

“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.”

Now the question is do you accept it do you accept the blood for your sins if so then you'll be forgiven, if not you're rejecting the payment made on your behalf for your sins. The Bible is very clear there's two places you go when you die if you're saved you go to Heaven, if you're lost you go to the place below called hell a place of suffering and torment paying for your own sins.

5.      Jesus Christ’s Blood applied in the Mercy Seat in Heaven

Our High Priest Jesus Christ, He shed His blood, He then offered it up in Heaven. The Bible teaches that Jesus went up to heaven and the Bible teaches that there's an ark in Heaven and the Bible teaches that Jesus Christ died was buried and rose again and that when he rose again the Bible teaches that he went up to Heaven up there there's a tabernacle up there as well and that in heaven Jesus offered up his blood in Heaven let me show you that in the Bible so Jesus's blood wasn't just there on the cross he then took it up to heaven and offered it up on The Mercy Seat in Heaven.

Hebrews 8:1 King James Version

“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;”

A minister of the sanctuary and of the true Tabernacle which the Lord pitched and not man so there's a true Tabernacle in Heaven and when God told Moses to build a tabernacle down here the Bible says it was a pattern of one that was already in Heaven so they were building down here something that was up there.

The New Testament starts with the death of a testator and The New Testament started with the cross when Jesus died, now let's go to Hebrews chapter 9.

Hebrews 9:23 King James Version

“It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.”

So Jesus when he died didn’t go down into the Tabernacle down here (world) and offer his blood as the Lamb of God, no, Jesus went up to Heaven and in that Tabernacle in Heaven He offered up His blood.

Hebrews 9:24-28 King James Version

24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

6.      Jesus Christ’s Blood applied to Saved Souls

Number six is a personal thing, now the question is where can the blood be applied today. The Bible teaches that when you get saved your soul is washed with the blood of Jesus Let's go to Revelation chapter 1:

Revelation 1:5 King James Version

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,”

Did you get that? What does that mean he washed us from our sins he washed our soul and when we're saved our soul is washed in the blood, you see before you're saved God looks at the soul of man and all he sees is black, the color of sin and He sees it like a stain on you, God is Holy, He cannot allow something that's stained into Heaven where everything is perfect, no, I need something to be forgiven, well when you get saved God washes your sins away and your soul is literally washed in the blood of Jesus Christ and you're forgiven of all your sins and now you can be allowed into Heaven when you die that's what the Bible teaches.

1 John 1:7 King James Version

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

This is a thing that's spiritual but it's also physical in the sense that it's real, it's the real blood of Jesus and it's really cleansing you from your sins and when you're saved, your sins are washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ, that's what the Bible teaches, are you washed in the blood?

7.      Jesus Christ’s Return

Revelation 19:11-16 King James Version

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

I'd like to draw your attention there to verse 13. look at what it says: “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:” Why is he already have blood on Him? Well some people think: well that's the blood of his enemies, no! He hasn't destroyed them yet, then whose blood is that? It's His own blood!

The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ has a vesture dipped in blood so He's clothed in blood. Christ comes and sheds His blood and then returns and He's clothed with his own blood, those who are saved the Bible says we're clothed with His righteousness we're clothed our soul is clothed with the blood of Christ and then our glorified body will have a white robe or raiment.

Isaiah 63:1-3 King James Version

1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?

3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

6 And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.

So isn't that interesting as you're reading in Revelation it says His vesture was dipped in blood, He dipped in His own blood it looks like, but then He comes down and in the battle He gets the blood of His enemies and it's all over his garment as Jesus Christ wins the battle so Revelation chapter 19.

In the King James Bible, the phrase “his own blood” appears 4 times in the Bible

From E-Sword App

If you search the phrase: "in his blood", this appear once in the Bible

From E-Sword App

So both phrases appears 5 instances in the entire Bible, also 5 is how many times Jesus Christ was pierced: 2 in His hands, 2 in His feet, 1 on His side.

When you get saved that precious shed blood of Jesus washes your sins away from your soul and you are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ and you’re clothed in a white robe and someday Jesus will return in judgment to bring judgment to his enemies who have done him wrong and guess what, they'll pay with their own blood, because they rejected the blood of Jesus Christ. You got a decision to make, if that decision is: will you come to Jesus for salvation, will you trust His blood?
